You know in movies where people's lives change drastically, and the really slow part where they are learning how to start their new life is sped up with a catchy tune and clips that show you what the character has been doing for a long period of time in 3 minutes? The time when the person learns the basics and gets comfortable with their surroundings? Think Big Daddy with "Hip hop annonymous". I feel that that part of my story here is over. Not that is was sped up at all. But I am over the big bump of being settled here. My room is mine, with flowers and a Canadian flag above my bed with the plague from from Carolyn and Maureen which reads "Follow Your Heart". I know how everything in the house works and I know what to do each day with the kids. I have a vibe for the town and I know where to find things to do and people to talk to and where to get what I need, like tea and toothpaste. The kids have stopped testing my boundaries, I am laughing with them more and yelling at them less and I know their likes and how to make them smile or frown.
The language is at a point where I could coast in my broken Italian, not that I'm going to, but I can communicate and that's important.
I still have no idea what the my future here is going to be like, but I know there will be one and it will be great.
Also, I have added some photos from my first trip to Pesaro, here, and my second trip to Pesaro here.
Guido comes today and it is Sarah's Birthday! I believe we are having a small celebration in the house just with us.
I am posting the link the weather page under my links list, so you can check it out if you feel you can handle the jealousy. It is cold, but it's pretty much fall here. The leaves are still dropping and there is lots of green around still. The air is chilly but the sun is bright, most days, and it warms enough.
Here are some pictures from the last weeks:
A spider web at the bustop by the flat
Over the Borgo Mercatale, the bus station in Urbino
The kite on the hill! There is a big Kite festival here in September, and I think it is their biggest one, because they have a statue of a kite at one of the entrances, and this carved into the hill. I'm working on getting a direct shot of it.
Between the walls. Taken from the Fortezza
Centrale with nothing in it! This is pretty rare. In summer there was tables for caffe's, and now there are often buses, tables, vehicles, Christmas decorations, or at the very least, people. But this is it. Naked.
Also, this is the main building in Urbino. It makes the centre. It is just an apartment building. People rent the room here. One of the room here is CUST. This is where I go every Wednesday for the movie. It is a big square building, and when you walk in, the sky is above you, because in the courtyard of the building, there is no roof.
View of near the Borgo Mercatale in Centrale.
Nature Walk!
I ended up in a place where there was no exit, because I had come down a hill with no real road. Anyways, I found myself right next to some church bells! Because I was standing in the gutter, which I thought was a path. But, no closer view of these suckers.
Soccer! Live, real, Italian soccer. Every Sunday there is a game in the stadium between Urbino and another.
Kids with their flags and their songs.
The heroes.
Benedetta takes dance lessons down this street twice a week.
And one day, after I dropped her off, I took some pictures. Like this one
And this one.
And this one.
Oh, and this one.
Not this one. Just kidding, yea. This one.
A cute house.
Empty flower pots.
A shrub of many colors!
Another day, we waited for Alessandra in a park across from this church which is across the street from the girl's school.
Funny faces! I don't think Sarah got it...
Nice faces! I don't think Sarah got this either...
A statue. Like I said, if there is no statue in sight, you're not in Italy. This was just chilling at someone's house.
The mountain view! I love watching the sun go down at the part of town.
In the park across from the church.
Sun hitting the mountains.
Christmas Market!
More of the Christmas market.
View from near the centre.
Where I sat and wrote.
The countryside.
The street leading to Canyon!
Pansies are not really pansies.
Rosebud outside my building.
From the garage park under the flat.
These were from a walk with Bella.
All of the leaves were gone, but the weird fruits stuck around. It was like this for about week. I thought it was kind of nifty.
The fog! The fog is so cool. This is it moving around the countryside.
Benedetta and... Leggo!
Sarah in the Leggo box... That's ok though. It's cute.
My favourite picture of Benedetta to date.
Apparently Dustin Hoffman was here. I missed out.
Centrale, and the big steeple urking in the background. And some of the Christmas lights!
Centrale

I hope you are all doing well! Enjoy the pictures and the snow that I undertand has fallen!
I think the weird fruit is my favorite to date!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I actually thought of you when I took it. Don't know why, don't care to analyze it. Just seems like something you'd like.
